DAN LE BATARD is scheduled to to his ESPN TV show "HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE" TODAY (7/26) and will be back on ESPN RADIO's "THE DAN LE BATARD SHOW WITH STUGOTZ" on MONDAY, and numerous media sources are saying that LE BATARD's meeting YESTERDAY with ESPN president JIMMY PITARO in NEW YORK went well. However, travel delays due to mechanical problems with his flight back from NEW YORK to MIAMI may keep LE BATARD from the TV show this afternoon, radio producer MIKE RYAN RUIZ said this morning.
The NEW YORK POST's ANDREW MARCHAND tweeted that LE BATARD and PITARO are "apparently 'aligned,'" according to his source, as the parties "try to extinguish the whole issue." The same "alignment" characterization appeared in USA TODAY's item about the meeting,
LE BATARD ripped ESPN on his JULY 19th show for what he called its "cowardly" stance restricting its personalities from voicing opinions on political or social issues in light of Pres. TRUMP's racist comments and the "Send Her Back" chant at a rally the previous week, and took MONDAY off, returning for TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY's show professing to be "scared" and shaken by the conflict.
On THURSDAY's show, JON "STUGOTZ" WEINER said that LE BATARD would return on TV FRIDAY and on radio next MONDAY; ISRAEL GUTIERREZ filled in for LE BATARD on THURSDAY and MIAMI HERALD columnist GREG COTE, the regular TUESDAY third-chair who also reported in the HERALD that the meeting resulted in no punishment for LE BATARD, is filling in TODAY.
