ENTERCOM Alternative WNYL (ALT 92.3)/NEW YORK has begun "The 2 Minute Promise" by never playing more than two minutes of commercials at a time.
ALT 92.3 PD MIKE KAPLAN said, "We’re excited to launch this low-inventory and short segment approach for our listeners and marketing partners here in NEW YORK. ENTERCOM was first to embrace The 2 Minute Promise, and with great success, on our sister station KNDD, 107.7 THE END SEATTLE.
"This scaled back approach to commercials is designed to better reflect the expectations of today’s media consumer. Playing less commercials in shorter segments creates an enhanced listening experience. The 2 Minute Promise means more music for our fans and allows our sponsor messages to stand out from the sea of ads traditionally heard on radio."
KNDD was the first station to launch "The 2 Minute" promise over five years ago (NET NEWS, 6/23/14).
