Apple Music Debuts ALT CTRL Playlist

Formerly known as The A-List, APPLE MUSIC has launched ALT CTRL, a new global playlist spotlighting the best new music being released across the alternative genre.

The signature playlist art for ALT CTRL will feature a different artist each week. HAIM graces the inaugural cover of ALT CTRL. The L.A. sister trio just released their new single, “Summer Girl.”

“I remember being in some faraway town on tour and feeling a moment of inspiration,” singer-guitarist DANIELLE HAIM told APPLE MUSIC, explaining "how we got the first vibe of the song together. I opened up GARAGEBAND, started messing around with it, and came up with this weird bassline. I wrote the verse super-quickly, came up with the drum part -- and cranked the reverb.”

Additional artists featured on the ALT CTRL playlist include DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE, BILLIE EILISH, WHITE REAPER, CLAIRO, and more.
