Two possible copper thieves who broke into the AM transmitter site of COX MEDIA GROUP News-Talk KRMG-A-F/TULSA received electrical shocks and one of them died from electrocution SUNDAY morning (8/4).
TULSA COUNTY sheriffs found the two men at the transmitter site with tools that would be used for stealing copper. On MONDAY, sister FOX affiliate KOKI-TV (FOX 23)/TULSA reported that the deceased was identified as ALFRED BADGER, 39, and his girlfriend ANGIE WEST has been arrested on murder charges for dropping the men off at the site to steal copper and then falling asleep in the car and driving away the next morning.
Market VP CATHY GUNTHER said, "Early this morning two individuals broke into the KRMG AM transmitter site. It appears they attempted to access a building through a conduit and were electrocuted. One of the individuals is deceased and one was transported to the hospital. From the tools and materials found at the site, it appears that they were attempting to steal copper. The safety of our community is of utmost importance -- please do not enter any transmitter site, for any reason, as the area is extremely dangerous."
