FEMA and the FCC's nationwide test of the EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM on WEDNESDAY (8/7) will take place at 2:20p (ET). The one-minute test will exclude the Wireless Emergency Alert system for cell phones, testing EAS in the absence of internet connectivity.
This year's test via IPAWS will be similar to regular EAS tests and will be sent through Primary Entry Point radio and TV stations to other radio and TV stations, cable systems, wireline video providers, and satellite radio and TV.
