Darren Smith To Host Middays On KLSD-A (XTRA 1360)/San Diego

Another former BCA Sports XEPRS-A (THE MIGHTY 1090)/SAN DIEGO host has found a new home in the market, as former MIGHTY 1090 midday host DARREN SMITH is joining crosstown iHEARTMEDIA Sports KLSD-A (XTRA 1360) for noon-3p (PT) beginning TOMORROW (8/6). SMITH's longtime producer and co-host MARTY CASWELL will also continue with the show as Senior Reporter/Producer.

SMITH's addition to the XTRA lineup bumps present midday co-host JON SCHAEFFER to afternoons to co-host "THE LOOSE CANNONS" with STEVE HARTMAN and RICH OHRNBERGER; SCHAEFFER's co-host NICK HARDWICK will become an "NFL Insider" for the station and will appear MONDAY and FRIDAY mornings at 8a during MIKE COSTA and JUDSON RICHARDS' morning show.

THE MIGHTY 1090's morning show, BEN HIGGINS and STEVEN WOODS, joined crosstown ENTERCOM Sports KWFN (97.3 THE FAN) in JUNE after the demise of the Sports format at 1090 in APRIL. 1090 afternoon host SCOTT KAPLAN has been working on resurrecting the 1090 format and has been hosting his show on video since BCA shut down the streaming version of the MIGHTY 1090 on APRIL 29th.
