CAPITOL MUSIC GROUP (CMG) and CAROLINE have signed an agreement with K-pop group SUPERM through SEOUL, KOREA-based SM ENTERTAINMENT CO., LTD. Exec. Music Producer SOO-MAN LEE, who has led the global K-pop phenomenon since its inception, produced SUPERM through SMP (SM Music Performance) and helped create the diverse group -- TAEMIN from SHINee, EXO’s BAEKHYUN and KAI, NCT 127's TAEYONG and MARK, and LUCAS and TEN of Chinese band WayV.
SUPERM will receive a grand-scale U.S. launch in OCTOBER 2019, which will include the group’s first music releases and debut U.S. live performances.
“We have put together seven super-talented artists to perform differentiated music," SOO-MAN LEE said. "SUPERM will show you the core values of K-pop with music performance, fashion, and videos. All on a completely different scale, each with exceptional talent in dance, vocal, and rap.”
“SUPERM is uniquely positioned to become the highest-profile U.S. debut of a K-pop group in the history of this phenomenon,” CMG Chairman/CEO STEVE BARNETT said.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with Mr. LEE and the entire team at SM ENTERTAINMENT," CAROLINE Pres. JACQUELINE SATURN said. "SUPERM is hugely exciting for all of us at Caroline, and we can’t wait to present the group and their music to American audiences in OCTOBER.”
