CUMULUS MEDIA has promoted DEIDRE RANSDELL from midday host to PD of Country WLXX (NASH FM 92.9)/LEXINGTON. She joined the station in 2001 as a member of its morning show, later moving to afternoon drive and then her current midday host position. She succeeds former PD/afternoon-driver ROGER MCCOY, who departed last month to be closer to his family in NORTH CAROLINA (NET NEWS 7/9).
In 2018, RANSDELL added overnights at sister station WSM-FM (95.5 NASH ICON)/NASHVILLE, and is also heard in markets across the country via CUMULUS’ WESTWOOD ONE syndication arm. Prior to her broadcast career, she had a 15-year career in education.
CUMULUS/LEXINGTON GM SCOTT FRAZIER said, “Having DEIDRE RANSDELL as WLXX Program Dir. is like naming JUSTIN VERLANDER as your Starter in Game 1 of the World Series. She brings talent, experience, drive and the will to win to the station. I’m very much looking forward to working with her.”
OM ANTHONY “TWITCH” LONGO, added, “It’s a great day when we get to promote someone as talented and hardworking as DEIDRE! She is a force to be reckoned with, and to say that I am excited to have her at the helm of NASH FM 92.9 is an understatement!"
