Some stories breaking in the WINDY CITY, according to widely respected media guru ROBERT FEDER: After 13 years, WINDOW TO THE WORLD COMMUNICATIONS Classical outlet WFMT/CHICAGO PD DAVID POLK has resigned and is heading to NEW YORK to pursue some as-yet-unannounced plans. No word on who replaces him.
Over at CUMULUS N/T WLS-A/CHICAGO, the station has teamed up with VSiN, (VEGAS STATS & INFORMATION NETWORK). WLS is airing VSiN’s “Action Updates,” hosted by iconic sportscaster BRENT MUSBURGER, at 6:58P daily, MONDAY-FRIDAY. And, beginning AUGUST 31, WLS-A will air VSiN’s “Sunday Preview” hosted DAVE FARRA and MATT BROWN from 6:30 to 8:30P on SATURDAYS.
And at ENTERCOM Classic Hip Hop WBMX/CHICAGO, night dude JULIAN JUMPIN PEREZ is apologizing on his FACEBOOK page for a joke he'd made about Mexican immigrants. While on stage at FESTIVAL CUBANO at CHICAGO’s RIIS PARK FRIDAY (8/9) that “the way to keep Mexicans quiet was by calling ICE,” making reference to IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT.
The story doesn't stop there as the folks who run CHICAGO's "My House Music Festival" pulled PEREZ from the linep this past SUNDAY (8/11).
