In another move, baseball and women's basketball play-by-play voice and football sideline reporter JEFF BRIGHTWELL will take over football and men's basketball studio host duties along with co-hosting the coaches' shows with football coach MIKE NORVELL and men's basketball coach PENNY HARDAWAY. FLINN BROADCASTING Sports WHBQ-A/MEMPHIS midday co-host and TIGERS baseball analyst GREG GASTON will take BRIGHTWELL's place as football sideline reporter.
The network also plans to name the broadcast desk the "FORREST GOODMAN Broadcast Desk" for the 2019 season in memory of the longtime TIGERS broadcaster who died in JUNE.
"With the start of a new athletics season, we're pleased to bring on three new radio affiliates to the Network to provide fans who live outside the immediate area more listening options," said TIGER SPORTS PROPERTIES GM TODD KUCINSKI. "We have a great broadcast team in place and of course we're all remembering FORREST, our good friend and devoted TIGER fan. It's an honor for us to rename our broadcast desk as a tribute to his many years of serving with us."
The TIGERS air in MEMPHIS on News-Talk WREC-A-W221CR and Classic Rock WEGR (ROCK 102.7).
