WAIT/Chicago To Go Dark As Transmitter Site Is Sold To College: Report

ROBERTFEDER.COM is reporting that NEWSWEB RADIO is taking daytimer WAIT-A/CRYSTAL LAKE-CHICAGO dark and selling the land under its transmitter in CRYSTAL LAKE to MCHENRY COUNTY COLLEGE.

WAIT's brokered Spanish Religion "LA PROMESA" format ended in JULY and the station went to a temporary eclectic music format and public service programming while awaiting the sale; the station's GM MARK PINSKI told FEDER that the formal Silent STA filing will come later this week and the company will seek a new site for the station, which it bought in 2003.

The real estate deal has been approved by the college's board but has not yet been formalized.
