The latest chapter of COLEMAN INSIGHTS' "TUESDAYS WITH COLEMAN" blog by President WARREN KURTZMAN follows up on the branding issue for podcasts addressed in previous posts and at COLEMAN's "Outside Thinking for Podcasts" presentation last WEDNESDAY at PODCAST MOVEMENT in ORLANDO, this time offering seven ways for podcasters to build their brands.
The suggestions from KURTZMAN include creating a tight, effective "elevator pitch" succinctly explaining the podcast, giving the show a memorable title to cut through the clutter, using jingles and other mnemonic devices, being consistent with release scheduling and show format, using benchmarks and recurring segments, meeting audience expectations with topics, and "advertising" (including social media, cross-promotion with other podcasts, SEO, and other marketing techniques).
