Garth Brooks And Ashley McBryde Appear On New 'Country Mile' Podcast

PEARL RECORDS' GARTH BROOKS and WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE'S ASHLEY MCBRYDE appeared at the taping of THE TENNESSEAN’s new podcast series, "Country Mile," last night (8/20). The series was recorded at BELMONT UNIVERSITY’S CURB EVENT CENTER in NASHVILLE.
As reported by THE TENNESSEAN, BROOKS and MCBRYDE spoke with reporter CINDY WATTS about the ups and downs of being a songwriter. BROOKS shared the story behind his first single he had written, saying, “Everything that is a blessing is a curse, and everything that is a curse is a blessing. The curse was GEORGE STRAIT didn't cut 'Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old).' The blessing was it was my first single.”
Other artists who are set to participate on future tapings of the show include DIERKS BENTLEY, CHRIS YOUNG, TENILLE TOWNES, HIGH VALLEY, MARTY STUART, VINCE GILL, RICKY SKAGGS and more. The podcast will be released in the coming weeks leading up to the debut of KEN BURNS’ PBS documentary, “Country Music,” on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th. The podcast will be available via iTUNES, SPOTIFY and on USA TODAY NETWORK’s website.
