WDAS-A/Philadelphia Bets On Flip To Sports As 'Fox Sports Radio, The Gambler'

New Format

ALL ACCESS hears that iHEARTMEDIA's WDAS-A-W273DO-WDAS-F-HD2/PHILADELPHIA is flipping to Sports as FOX SPORTS RADIO, THE GAMBLER. The flip will take place on MONDAY (8/26) at 3p (ET).

The station will flip from the "BREAKTHROUGH RADIO" format of Adult Hits and health features provided by CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF PHILADELPHIA with a lineup that will include a local afternoon show with market veteran and PHILLYINFLUENCER.COM founder SEAN BRACE and the FOX SPORTS RADIO lineup the rest of the day. The station slogan reflects the legalization of sports betting in PENNSYLVANIA, NEW JERSEY, and DELAWARE, with the national sports talk lineup positioned at gamblers who are looking for talk about teams outside the local market.

WDAS-A was a heritage Urban station from the 1950s through an evolution to Gospel (with the FM continuing the Urban format) through 2007, when a succession of formats took over, first Tropical as WUBA-A in 2007, then Urban Oldies as WDAS-A in 2011, Smooth Jazz as  "SMOOTH JAZZ JJZ" (retaining the WDAS calls) in 2013, and the "BREAKTHROUGH RADIO" format since SEPTEMBER 2017.
