The AMERICANA MUSIC ASSOCIATION is set for its 20th annual AMERICANAFEST – which includes THE AMERICANA HONORS & AWARDS SHOW and AMERICANA CONFERENCE -- taking place SEPTEMBER 10th-15th in NASHVILLE at THE WESTIN.
This special event covers the interests and needs of artists, managers, labels, radio stations, publishers, agents, promoters, retailers, legal and business affairs executives, merchandisers and new media professionals in sessions throughout the week.
Plus, there will be over 500 live performances at almost 60 of NASHVILLE's venues for six evenings. But this year a day stage has been added to the agenda: NPR Music, in partnership with nationally syndicated WORLD CAFE (produced by WXPN/PHILADELPHIA), WMOT (ROOTS RADIO)/NASHVILLE and the TENNESSEE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (TPAC), will co-produce the AMERICANAFEST DAY STAGE. The performances will occur at the TPAC-operated WAR MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM from SEPTEMBER 12th-14th.
THE AMERICANA HONORS & AWARDS SHOW will take place at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM on the evening of SEPTEMBER 11th. Each year the AMERICANA MUSIC ASSOCIATION honors distinguished members of the music community. Six member-voted awards and several Lifetime Achievement Awards will be handed out (NET NEWS 8/13).
There will also be the annual SONGLINES AMERICANA MUSIC MEETING that will place on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th from 3-5p at THE WESTIN. SONGLINES’ SEAN COAKLEY (sean@songlinesmusic.com) and LESIE ROUFFE (leslie@songlinesmusic.com) are looking for song submissions right now.
