Lots of congrats and happiness for the team at REPUBLIC RECORDS and for TAYLOR SWIFT as her new album "Lover" blows past the two million global consumption level on release day (8/23), making it the year's biggest first-week U.S. sales effort in just 24 hours, with approximately 450,000 copies sold on day of release. SATURDAY (8/24) saw another big day in sales with the totals approaching 500,000.
For 10-time GRAMMY AWARD-winning and record-breaking superstar TAYLOR, "Lover" is her seventh album.
Meanwhile, SWIFT's "Lover" generates big positives as TAYLOR's highest rated critically acclaimed album on METACRITIC.
The title single "Lover" is poised for a big airplay week.
