UMG Nashville Pres. Cindy Mabe Talks Shop At WMBA Meeting

UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP NASHVILLE Pres. CINDY MABE was the guest speaker at THE WOMEN’S MUSIC BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (WMBA) AUGUST membership meeting this week, held at the COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION offices in NASHVILLE. MABE recounted her journey from BELMONT UNIVERSITY student to head of a major record label and what she looks for in signing new acts, which is those with a "unique perspective and something meaningful to say."

"Music is one of the most influential things on the planet,” she said. “When an artist performs a song, they are channeling something nobody else can do.” 

“It was an honor to listen to CINDY speak about her journey, while offering practical career advice to our members,"  WMBA Pres. LAUREN SIMON of THE VALORY MUSIC CO. said. "CINDY’s message left our group feeling empowered. Many women mentioned that she was their favorite speaker WMBA has hosted this year. CINDY is a testament to where hard work and determination can land you.”
