COURT TV, resurrected by SCRIPPS this year, is launching a weekly true crime podcast of its own via sister SCRIPPS division STITCHER. "THE COURT TV PODCAST" is hosted by network anchors VINNIE POLITAN and SEEMA IYER and debuts TOMORROW (8/29) with new installments posting each THURSDAY.
POLITAN said, "SEEMA and I, and all our colleagues, have very engaging, sometimes very spirited, off-camera conversations about how prosecutors and defense attorneys are navigating through the nation's most fascinating trials. Our new COURT TV podcast will allow listeners to be a part of this intriguing behind-the-scenes discussion."
"VINNIE and I worked on both sides of the courtroom when we were practicing attorneys. Our experience allows us to look at all sides of a case. I think people will enjoy listening to us dissect trials and putting the puzzle pieces together," added IYER.
The original COURT TV, owned by TURNER, evolved into a more general interest network heavy on reality shows before rebranding as TRUTV on JANUARY 1st, 2008, repositioning once again to comedy in 2014. SCRIPPS relaunched the channel as a digital broadcast network via its KATZ BROADCASTING, LLC diginet division in MAY.
