Three "A NIGHT OF CLASS" concerts have been postponed "due to anonymous racial slurs and threats of bodily harm to promoters and staff." The shows -- featuring DIONNE WARWICK, PEABO BRYSON and DENIECE WILLIAMS -- were scheduled for the ALTRIA THEATRE in RICHMOND, VA on SUNDAY, AUGUST 25th, the KINGS THEATER in BROOKLYN TONIGHT, AUGUST 30th, and the BEACON THEATER in MANHATTAN on SATURDAY, AUGUST 31st
According to a police report filed last FRIDAY (8/23) just after 6p in ATLANTA, anonymous text messages of racial slurs and threats of bodily harm were sent to the concert promoters, their family and staff members; soon thereafter vandals slashed the tires of transportation vehicles and tampered with sound equipment.
All three concerts will be rescheduled to ensure the safety of all staff and audience members.
