Music Label Exec, Entrepreneur And Icon Jim Swindel Passes On

ALL ACCESS is very saddened to report the passing of one of the truly nice people in the music business, JIM SWINDEL following a brave battle with LEWY BODY DEMENTIA.

SWINDEL was surrounded by his family, wife RANDI and children DAN and JOE, late SATURDAY (8/31) as he passed away.

He began is career in 1977 at A&M RECORDS as a Local Marketing Manager. He moved on to ISLAND RECORDS/NEW YORK as VP/Marketing & Sales. Then onto VIRGIN RECORDS as SVP/GM, leaving for the President's post at QWEST RECORDS working with the legendary QUINCY JONES. Later he was Pres. & CMO at AMPLIFIED ENTERTAINMENT, then EVP/GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT RELATIONS at GIBSON GUITAR and finally Partner/Founder of MARVELOUS MEDIA, aimed at improving education for children.

RANDI told ALL ACCESS, "We are planning a Celebration Of Life in OCTOBER." We'll pass on the details once we learn more.
