WPGC/Washington, D.C. Names Jay Hicks PD

It's official. ENTERCOM Top 40/Rhythmic WPGC/WASHINGTON D.C. has named JAY HICKS as its new PD. HICKS, inbound from the Brand Mgr. gig at TOWNSQUARE MEDIA Urban WBLK (POWER 93.7)/BUFFALO, starts SEPTEMBER 16th.

ENTERCOM/WASHINGTON D.C. SVP/Market Mgr. PHIL ZACHARY commented, "From the beginning, we were seeking a creative visionary with an appreciation for WPGC’s rich history in the D.C. market. JAY pays respect to the station’s past while clearly comprehending the present competitive landscape in one of AMERICA’s most spirited urban radio battles. He’s ideally suited to lead our veteran air staff."

HICKS added, "I would like to thank PHIL ZACHARY, REGGIE ROUSE [PD, V-103; Urban Format Captain, ENTERCOM] and the entire ENTERCOM team for allowing me the opportunity to lead such an iconic national brand as WPGC. “I’m very grateful and honored, and I look forward to adding more value and growth to WPGC in the D.C. community."

ENTERCOM/WASHINGTON, D.C. VP/Programming and WPGC-WIAD PD STEVE DAVIS announced in early AUGUST that he was leaving to move back to RICHMOND, VA to be nearer to is family. DAVIS' last day with ENTERCOM/WASHINGTON, D.C. is set for OCT. 4th (NET NEWS 8/8).
