A low-power FM has been fined by the FCC under a consent decree for several violations of FCC rules.
SAN TAN EDUCATIONAL MEDIA, licensee of KFXY-LP/MESA, AZ, agreed to pay $1,500 to settle violations including changing its entire board without filing an application for Commission consent, building a tower and antenna at lower height than authorized and operating that way for four months, and falsely certifying building in accordance with its permit, in an application signed by someone no longer affiliated with the permittee at the time.
The Commission also said that the record does not create a question of whether SAN TAN is qualified to hold an FCC license, and chose not to set the matter for a hearing.
