Quite a coup for iHEARTMEDIA Urban WGCI & Top 40 WKSC/CHICAGO to stream KANYE WEST's SUNDAY SERVICE yesterday from the HUNTINGTON BANK PAVILION on NORTHERLY ISLAND to a capacity crowd of 30,000 despite a bit of rain. The service was also streamed on SundayService.com.
Tickets to the event were free and were snatched up in a matter of moments.
iHEARTMEDIA/CHICAGO RSVPP JAMES HOWARD told ALL ACCESS, "KANYE coming home and delivering an inspirational SUNDAY SERVICE struck an amazing chord with our audiences. We had 24 hours from announcement to going live on air on SUNDAY, it was worth every minute. And big thanks to DEF JAM. Our partnership was amazing, they really brought it.”
Appearing with KANYE was fellow hometown superstar CHANCE THE RAPPER, who performed "Ultralight Beam" -- KANYE and the choir performed “Jesus Walks,” “Fade,” “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1”. Other songs included those originally recorded by SNOOP DOGG/Drop It Like It's Hot, CLIPSE/Grindin' and NELLY FURTADO/I’m Like a Bird.
