CUMULUS MEDIA News-Talk WPRO-A-WEAN (NEWSTALK 99.7 FM & AM 630 WPRO)/PROVIDENCE is devoting a day of broadcasts to the opioid crisis. "Enough: WPRO's Opioid Awareness Day" is scheduled for SEPTEMBER 13th and will run through the station's local lineup, including the morning "THE NEWS WITH GENE VALICENTI" and TARA GRANAHAN, MATT ALLEN, DAN YORKE, and ANDY GRESH's shows. Among the guests will be former BOSTON CELTICS player CHRIS HERREN, RHODE ISLAND Gov. GINA RAIMONDO and her husband ANDY MOFFIT, former Rep. PATRICK KENNEDY (D-RI), and others.
“As the opioid crisis continues to threaten the state of RHODE ISLAND, WPRO understands that we have a responsibility to use our voice and our platform to discuss this terrifying epidemic,” said Market Manager HOLLY PARAS. “I am proud to be part of a station that understands this responsibility and is bringing this difficult but critically important conversation to the community.”
