DAN SILEO's tenure as afternoon host at iHEARTMEDIA Sports KGME-A (FOX SPORTS 910)/PHOENIX may have ended a week after it began, reports THE ATHLETIC. SILEO was on the air last TUESDAY through FRIDAY but all mentions of him were gone from the station's schedule by FRIDAY night and FOX SPORTS RADIO's "THE ODD COUPLE WITH CHRIS BROUSSARD AND ROB PARKER" was listed in the time slot MONDAY.
THE ATHLETIC previously obtained a statement from the ARIZONA COYOTES, who recently signed a deal with the station, reacting to SILEO's hiring and controversial history, reading, "When we became aware that FOX SPORTS 910 had hired DAN SILEO, we immediately reached out to the station’s management to express our deep concern regarding Mr. SILEO’s abhorrent comments. Our promotion of inclusivity is deeply rooted into the fabric of who we are as an organization and we have no tolerance for racism, sexism, anti-Semitism or any other discriminatory behavior.”
SILEO, the former UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI and pro football player. was tapped for afternoons at FOX SPORTS 910 (NET NEWS 8/29) after stints at ENTERCOM Sports KWFN (97.3 THE FAN)/SAN DIEGO and BCA Sports XEPRS-A (THE MIGHTY 1090)/SAN DIEGO; he previously worked at WQAM-A/MIAMI, WMEN-A/WEST PALM BEACH, WDAE-A/TAMPA, KNBR-A/SAN FRANCISCO, and FOX SPORTS RADIO and has frequently filled in at WEEI/BOSTON.
