ALL ACCESS has learned that FEDERATED MEDIA Rock WRBR (103.9 THE BEAR)/SOUTH BEND, IN PD RON STRYKER has passed away.
The WRBR website posted this message earlier TODAY from FEDERATED MEDIA:
"It is with incredible sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that our friend and colleague RON STRYKER has passed away. RON has been a part of 103.9 THE BEAR and FEDERATED MEDIA family as long as any of us can remember. His personality and passion are irreplaceable. Out of respect for his family, friends and coworkers who are grieving his loss we are asking for privacy at this time."
There are no details available at this time, but STRYKER, who had worked for FEDERATED MEDIA since AUGUST 2002, listed this as his career synopsis in an ALL ACCESS 10 Questions interview in AUGUST 2013:
"(deep inhale a la ACE VENTURA)...I Went to broadcasting school at the BROWN INSTITUTE in MINNEAPOLIS, now BROWN COLLEGE. I obtained my FCC license on JANUARY 22nd, 1988. Interned at KJJO, KQRS, KDWB in MINNEAPOLIS and ran satellite and did weather breaks at KDWB-A, at the same time worked at KDWA-A -- not a typo. Other call letters include WHMH, WVAL/ST.CLOUD, MN, KCLB/PALM SPRINGS, CA, News Talk 1010, Sports Talk KXPS and KYOR also in the COACHELLA VALLEY in CALIFORNIA. I also worked for 98 KUPD and AM 1060(THE DEUCE) in PHOENIX under SANDUSKY-now HUBBARD. And currently flying the FEDERATED MEDIA flag for the last 11 years."
