SALEM News-Talk WGTK (94.5 THE ANSWER)/GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG host JOEY HUDSON took "THE MORNING ANSWER" to the station's PARIS MOUNTAIN tower for a special broadcast THURSDAY (9/12) explaining the Emergency Alert System. WGTK is one of the region's Primary Entry Point stations for the EAS operation, and the transmitter facility is equipped with backup equipment and generators to keep the station on the air without utility-provided power or refueling for 30-45 days.
On hand for the special broadcast were SOUTH CAROLINA Lt. Gov. PAMELA EVETTE amd FEMA officials, and HUDSON and the officials led a practice scenario provided by FEMA to simulate how the station would offer essential information in a real emergency.
Hudson, Evette
