Two months after the news leaked out (NET NEWS 7/17), the LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS made it official and have announced that SIRIUSXM ESPNU and ACC NETWORK host NOAH EAGLE will take over as the NBA team's radio voice as BRIAN SIEMAN moves from radio to TV. EAGLE, a recent SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY graduate and Sports Director of the school's noncommercial WAER, is the son of CBS NFL and TNT NBA play-by-play announcer IAN EAGLE.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the L.A. CLIPPERS, a first-class organization. There’s so much excitement building with this franchise and I can’t wait to provide the soundtrack for CLIPPERS fans worldwide,” said EAGLE, who also hosted the academic quiz "DOUBLE DOWN" for PBS affiliate WCNY-TV/SYRACUSE. “BRIAN SIEMAN did an incredible job these last 12 years on the radio. He’s left big shoes to fill, and I’m fortunate to learn from him throughout the season. My whole life I have dreamed about working in the NBA, and to see that dream become a reality is truly special.”
SIEMAN is moving to TV to take over from Hall of Fame broadcaster RALPH LAWLER, who retired after last season. CHAUNCEY BILLUPS will serve as TV color commentator for two-thirds of the schedule, with MIKE FRATELLO and COREY MAGGETTE splitting the games BILLUPS doesn't call. KRISTINA PINK and JAIME MAGGIO return as TV sideline reporters.
The CLIPPERS air on iHEARTMEDIA/DODGERS Sports KLAC-A (AM 570 LA SPORTS)/LOS ANGELES and on FOX SPORTS PRIME TICKET and FOX SPORTS SAN DIEGO.
