Report: Jerry McKenna Is WSTR (Star 94)/Atlanta's New PD

ENTERCOM Hot AC WSTR (STAR 94)/ATLANTA reportedly has concluded its months-long search, and will name former CAPE COD BROADCASTING Dir./Programming JERRY MCKENNA as PD.

MCKENNA is best remembered for his time at WXKS (KISS 108)/BOSTON and was later named APD of the late WZOU/BOSTON. He also spent time handling Rhythm-Crossover Promotion for both RCA and COLUMBIA RECORDS, later moving to BILLBOARD as Hot 100 Chart Manager and Dir./Charts for AIRPLAY MONITOR.

THE ATLANTA CONSTITUTION's RODNEY HO reports MCKENNA, "takes over for RON ROBERTS, who lasted at STAR for about a year. STAR, which turned over almost its entire daytime on-air staff recently including JEFF DAULER, has not seen particularly good ratings of late, behind the other three pop stations in town B98.5, Q100 and POWER 96.1."
