The licensee of a low power FM in OHIO has agreed with the OHIO Attorney General to pay $12,500 in restitution and penalties to settle allegations of violations of charity laws, reports the MARION STAR.
MARION MIDGET FOOTBALL, the licensee of Variety WWGH-LP/MARION, OH, assigned the license of the station to MARION EDUCATION EXCHANGE earlier this year in a transaction that has yet to close. Former MARION MIDGET FOOTBALL President SCOTT SPEARS and Treasurer PATSY WORCESTER were accused of breaking the charity laws and have agreed not to serve as officers or board members of nonprofits or solicit finds for charity (WORCESTER for a five-year period).
The state's court filing in the matter does not specify what violations occurred and notes that the defendants disputed the allegations and the settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing.
