LOS ANGELES ANGELS radio analyst and former pitcher MARK LANGSTON landed in a HOUSTON hospital after taking ill during FRIDAY's game against the ASTROS at MINUTE MAID PARK.
The LOS ANGELES TIMES reports that LANGSTON, 59, was "alert and undergoing testing" but appearing in good spirits after the incident, in which he received CPR in the broadcast booth before being taken to the hospital. The ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER added that LANGSTON collapsed after reading the starting lineups before the first pitch; TV pre-game and post-game host JOSE MOTA filled in for LANGSTON on the radio broadcast alongside play-by-play voice TERRY SMITH. LANGSTON remained in the hospital for tests overnight.
The ANGELS air on their own Sports KLAA-A (AM830)/ORANGE-LOS ANGELES.
