Each will serve an additional one-year term. RAMER has been on the CPB Board since 2008 and served as Chair in 2010-12 and Vice Chair in 2016-18; CAHILL is in her second term on the Board, having served as Vice Chair in 2011-12 and Chair in 2012-14.
“During this time of divisiveness in our country, our local public media stations remain necessary to protect democracy and build healthy communities. The need for accurate journalism and information, which public media provides across the country, is essential for our national conversation, upon which democracy relies,” said RAMER. “It is my honor to continue serving during this critical juncture, and I thank my fellow board members for their service and for the confidence they have bestowed upon me.”
“I want to thank the CPB board for their dedicated service and their vote of support,” added CAHILL. “We take our responsibilities to safeguard public media service for all Americans very seriously and consider it a privilege to support the values and goals of our local and national public media organizations.”
