UNITED STATIONS is adding new offerings from ACCUWEATHER in an expansion of the two companies' longstanding relationship, which has been extended in a multi-year agreement.
The new services include ACCUWEATHER+, which encompasses geo-specific "microcasts" for smart speakers, short-form podcasts with station-branced video, social media postings, and weather widgets for station's digital presence, and WEATHER FROM THE CLOUD, reports with additional lifestyle content for music stations.
USRN SVP/Content & Affiliation STEFAN JONES said, “Weather remains one of the few must-have programming elements for radio stations looking to stay connected with their local audiences. Weather is still ‘lean-in’ content, and we’re thrilled to be expanding the ways in which our current affiliates can engage with their audiences, and we’re doubly thrilled that we have new options with which we can service formats that may not have had the right kind of broadcast produced for them in the past.”
ACCUWEATHER Dir./Audio/Podcast Services KEN PREHL said, “It’s very exciting to be developing new and creative ways of delivering what has always been the best weather data around. With more than 100 expert meteorologists on staff, ACCUWEATHER is the most trusted source for weather alerts, news and updates, and we are so pleased to bring the power of ACCUWEATHER’s scientific expertise, crisp content, and hyperlocal reporting to the next level with our valued USRN partner stations.”
