The platform has a goal of ending extreme poverty by 2030. It has an agenda of educating global citizens about the systemic causes of extreme poverty, having them address those issues as part of a global community committed to lasting change for a positive impact on more than 2.5 billion people.
The festival's goals this year include calling on companies to procure at least $100 million of their products and services from women-owned businesses and encouraging our government to enact the "KEEPING GIRLS IN SCHOOL ACT," which focuses on increasing access to sanitary products in schools.
This weekend's successful event was a lead-in to next year's 10-hour, globally broadcast, multi-location concert on SEPTEMBER. 26, 2020, as part of a year-long initiative titled, “GLOBAL GOAL LIVE: THE POSSIBLE DREAM.”
Next year's globally broadcast event will cover five continents, again, taking place in New York, with performances set for NIGERIA, and other countries to be announced in LATIN AMERICA, EUROPE, and ASIA.
The 2020 lineup already includes: BILLIE EILISH, METALLICA, LIZZO, COLDPLAY, SHAWN MENDES, JANELLE MONÁE, MILEY CYRUS, ALICIA KEYS and many others.
