ENTERCOM Classic Hits WIAD (94.7 THE DRIVE)/WASHINGTON, DC is naming CHRIS ROTH as its new PD, replacing STEVE DAVIS (NET NEWS 8/8) who officially exits on OCTOBER 4th.
ROTH is in-bound from the VP/Business Development post at BOHN BROADCASTING SERVICES and was already part of ENTERCOM as a weekender at AC WLIF (TODAY's 101.9)/BALTIMORE. He's also got programming stops on his resume at SALEM's Christian Talker WAVA/WASHINGTON, CURTIS MEDIA's Classic Hits WMMY (Y102.9)/RALEIGH, plus various on-air duties at HUBBARD News WTOP/WASHINGTON and crosstown former CUMULUS Hot AC WRQX (MIX 107.3).
SVP/Market Mgr. PHIL ZACHARY said, "One year into the format, we are satisfied with the station’s position but we are constantly seeking new ways to innovate and improve. CHRIS ROTH brings the vernacular and market knowledge to fine tune 94.7 THE DRIVE to D.C.’s particular tastes. He’s uniquely suited for this role and I am excited to see him help our station excel.”
ROTH added, “Programming 94.7 THE DRIVE is a dream job for me. I’m passionate about the Classic Hits format and I’m looking forward to making it the fun destination for D.C. listening.”
