The WOMEN'S MUSIC BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (WMBA) held its SEPTEMBER MEMBERSHIP MEETING, featuring guest speaker, WOMEN NATION President/CEO ALI HARNELL, the newly created division of LIVE NATION. WMBA members gathered at ASCAP in NASHVILLE to hear from HARNELL.
HARNELL spearheads WOMEN NATION's initiatives and female-led/female-driven programming. Before her time there, she spent 15 years as SVP of AEG PRESENTS, where she co-founded the international Country music festival, COUNTRY2COUNTRY. HARNELL has never been one to back away from a challenge, and WMBA members were inspired to hear how she tackled the enormous task of creating a successful music festival from scratch.
HARNELL emphasized the importance of being confident in your decisions, personally and professionally, and speaking up for what you believe in. She encouraged members to manifest their dreams by sharing specific examples from her own journey.
WMBA Secretary EMILY BUKOWSKI commented, “ALI is such an incredible leader. She doesn’t apologize for who she is, and constantly encourages those around her. It was an honor to have her speak to our group!"
WMBA President LAUREN SIMON said, “ALI shared her experiences with our group honestly and directly. Personally, I seek teachers who are so themselves, they make me want to be myself. ALI is the definition of this! She infuses her personal gifts and experience into everything she does, sharing lessons through stories instead of commandments. I am deeply thankful that our membership got to hear ALI’s message.”
