WMVY/Martha’s Vineyard Buys New Building And Launches Capitol Campaign

FRIENDS OF MVYRADIO Triple A WMVY/MARTHA’S VINEYARD has announced TODAY (10/2) that they closed on the building that will become the station’s new home. Since the early ‘80s they have been renters in the town of VINEYARD HAVEN. They will be relocating five miles away in West Tisbury.  

The station has just announced a major Capital Campaign to finance the upgrade and reconfiguration of the new space and have received a few lead gifts to get things rolling. They hope to do the actual move at the end of summer 2020.

PJ FINN, PD/Exec. Dir. at FRIENDS OF MVYRADIO, said, “We’re ready to be owners instead of renters, to replace old equipment with new technology, and to have space for staff, guests, and visits from musicians and our community.”

“Just a few years out from the Save MVY Campaign, the station has found itself on solid financial ground and is ready to grow,” said MVYRADIO Board Chair KATHLEEN TEEHAN.  “It is time to move to a facility that is befitting of a community institution with a worldwide reach.”
