The FCC has rejected ALASKA EDUCATIONAL RADIO SYSTEM, INC.'s Application for Review of the dismissal of its applications for new FM translators in MOOSE PASS, PALMER, HOPE, and SEWARD, AK.
The applications were denied pursuant to objections filed by TURQUOISE BROADCASTING CO., LLC that alleged AERS was not financially qualified to construct and operate the translators, and the Commission, upon appeal, ruled that AERS did not offer evidence of its financial qualifications in a timely or adequate manner.
In addition, the Commission denied EMMANUEL COMMUNICATIONS, INC.'s Application for Review of the dismissal of its application for W256DN/WORCESTER, MA, which was intended to rebroadcast WNEB-A/WORCESTER. The application was initially approved but the approval was rescinded because the approval came erroneously before the window for Petitions to Deny was closed; PLYMOUTH ROCK BROADCASTING CO., INC. then filed a Petition to Deny, claiming the new translator would interfere with its WPLM-F/PLYMOUTH, MA.
