Condolences to the millions of fans and many friends and family on the passing PETER EDWARD "GINGER" BAKER. He was the co-founder and drummer of the renowned ENGLISH Rock band CREAM. BAKER died in a hospital in SOUTHEASTERN ENGLAND following a brief illness at the age of 80.
During his career, BAKER helped redefine the roll of drums in Rock music. Together with bandmates ERIC CLAPTON on guitar and JACK BRUCE on bass, CREAM carved a unique sound that has endured and inspired many musicians for years with a mixture of Psychedelic Rock, Hard Rock and Jazz.

There's good history of CREAM and GINGER BAKER's work with the band in THE GUARDIAN.
