VIRGIN DIGITAL MUSIC has shut down its U.S. operations. A message posted on its U.S. website reads, "We're happy to announce a partnership with NAPSTER, bringing you the best in digital music entertainment," and then directs users to click on a link that redirects them to NAPSTER, where a banner at the top of the page reads, "Welcome VIRGIN DIGITAL customers."
VIRGIN DIGITAL launched in NOVEMBER 2005 (NET NEWS 11/14/05). VIRGIN DIGITAL's U.K. operations and website are still up and running.
