Attention vinyl lovers and RECORD STORE DAY enthusiasts. This year's BLACK FRIDAY event offers an amazing array of some 170+ new releases. Here are just some of the items sure to be snatched up quickly during festivities happening NOVEMBER 29th.
CAPITOL RECORDS will release two new songs by legendary performer PAUL MCCARTNEY, "Home Tonight" and "In A Hurry," as a double A-sided limited edition 7-inch picture disc. Only 12,000 of this RSD Exclusive are being produced. The artwork on the disc is based on the parlor game, Exquisite Corpse. The songs were recorded during the sessions for the former BEATLE'S 2018 #1 album, Egypt Station, and will be available digitally a week earlier, on NOVEMBER 22nd.
Meanwhile, ISLAND RECORDS will keep U2 fans happy with a limited edition reissue of the group's EP, Three, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Originally released in IRELAND in SEPTEMBER 1979, the disc features three songs: "Out Of Control," "Stories For Boys" and "Boy-Girl." This RSD Exclusive is being remastered and pressed on 180g black vinyl, cut at 45 rpm, in a numbered release of 7,000.
It's not all heritage artists who are involved.
ATLANTIC RECORDS' red-hot LIZZO is releasing her debut EP, Coconut Oil, pressed on white vinyl (featuring a coconut scented insert). Only 5500 will be scattered across the country.
CAPITOL RECORDS' LEWIS CAPALDI - currently on fire with the #1 multi-format hit, "Someone You Loved" - will release an RSD Exclusive single featuring "Hold Me While You Wait" (recorded in a Spotify Session), with the B-side being a cover of the BILLIE EILISH smash, "When The Party's Over." Only 1500 of these discs will be available.
