Radio Is Prepared With Most Stations Still On The Air During Power Outages

PG&E is continuing their PSPO (Public Safety Power Outage) THURSDAY (10/10) in NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. The outages have encompassed at least 34 counties, with all but seven counties north of MERCED at least partly in the dark. So far radio is prepared with only one station reporting to be off the air.

RESULTS RADIO SANTA ROSA, CA, SVP Strategy/Growth DAVE SHAKES said, "Okay up here except for one station XS Sports (96.1) KKXS-FM SHINGLETOWN (REDDING METRO). Otherwise power and/or backup systems are operating. Reminds me of operating after an earthquake, but without the aftershocks."

And, beginning TONIGHT at 9P (PT) through TOMORROW (10/11) morning at 9a (PT), SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON will initiate a PSPO that will affect households and businesses in LOS ANGELES, VENTURA and RIVERSIDE COUNTIES.
