A majority of the PACIFICA Board of Directors voted SUNDAY (10/13) to bring the local programming and staff back to embattled noncommercial Variety WBAI/NEW YORK, according to a tweet from the station. The PACIFICA IN EXILE website reports that the vote followed another vote on SATURDAY that was disputed when those against the restoration of local programming allegedly did not count votes from five board members and muted their phone lines.
The 12 board members who participated in the SUNDAY vote also voted to remove the Vice Chair and Secretary from their positions, and instructed the foundation's law firm, FOSTER GARVEY, to pull out of all litigation in which it represents PACIFICA.
The PACIFICA IN EXILE report indicates that local control of the station will be restored TOMORROW (10/15).
