MCA NASHVILLE’s JOSH TURNER was among those honored last night (10/15) during Christian music’s biggest night, the GOSPEL MUSIC ASSOCIATION’s DOVE AWARDS in NASHVILLE. TURNER earned his first-ever DOVE for his collaboration with SONYA ISAACS on their cover of HANK WILLIAMS’ “I Saw The Light.” It was named Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year, and comes from TURNER’s album, “I Serve A Savior.”
Christian artist STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN won the DOVE in the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year category for his set, “Deeper Roots: Where the Bluegrass Grows,” produced by BRENT MILLIGAN and CHAPMAN.
The awards will be televised on TBN (TRINITY BROADCASTING NETWORK) on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20TH at 8P (ET). For the first time ever, SIRIUSXM covered the show live on its “The Message” channel (Channel 63), broadcasting the telecast and a pre-show special from the red carpet.
