Bill To Rename Post Office After Ritchie Valens Moving Through Congress

CALIFORNIA Rep. TONY CARDENAS of PANORAMA CITY introduced a bill to change the name of the PACOIMA, CA U.S. POST OFFICE to the RITCHIE VALENS POST OFFICE BUILDING. The bill was passed by the U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES and will now go to the U.S. SENATE for ratification.

RITCHIE VALENS, who was born in PACOIMA, died at 17 in the 1959 plane crash that also killed BUDDY HOLLY, J.P. "THE BIG BOPPER" RICHARDSON and pilot ROGER PETERSON.
