WAYNE MIUCCIO, known professionally as "WAYNE MICHAELS," died unexpectedly on OCTOBER 18th in CARY, NC. He was 59.
He spent the bulk of his career in RALEIGH, with two primary stops in THE TRIANGLE. Many years were spent doing nights at Top 40 WDCG (G105), with the show being called "WAYNE'S WORLD." In 1994, he crossed the street to AC WRAL (MIX 101.5) where he had a lengthy tenure as part of the MORNING SHOW.
WAYNE was passionate about sports and enjoyed watching the NORTH CAROLINA STATE WOLFPACK and his beloved NEW YORK METS.
He is survived by his wife KRIS, and their children DANIELLE (ANDREW) TREMBLAY, and ANDREW, KELSEY and SHEA MIUCCIO.
A memorial service will be held on FRIDAY (10/25).
