RADIO ONE ATLANTA has upped DEREK HARPER to OM of the cluster. He replaces HURRICANE DAVE SMITH who exited in AUGUST (NET NEWS 8/5).
HARPER told ALL ACCESS, “It’s an honor and one of the highlights of my 18 years with RADIO ONE. I’m blessed to have the support of RVP/GM TIM DAVIES, VP/Programming COLBY COLB, and REACH MEDIA/RADIO ONE CEO DAVID KANTOR. Our staffs here in ATLANTA are amazing and I’m looking forward to helping in every way possible.”
RVP/GM DAVIES added, “DEREK knows the ATLANTA market better than anyone I know. He has been key to the growth of our top-rated UAC MAJIC 107.5/97.5 and PRAISE 102.5, and now he can successfully lead the entire programming team."
VP/Programming COLB said, “His promotion is well earned and deserved. DEREK is one of the smartest programmers I have ever worked with, I’m excited to see him expand his role in the ATL.”
HARPER will also continue in his capacity as PD of Urban AC WAMJ (MAJIC 107.5/97.5)/ATLANTA and as RADIO ONE/REACH MEDIA Inspiration Format Captain. His other cluster responsibilities will include Urban WHTA (HOT 107.9), Urban Oldies WAMJ-HD2 (102.9), and Gospel WPZE (PRAISE 102.5)
