Radio veteran TOMMY EDWARDS is retiring from his longtime post as public address announcer for CHICAGO BULLS basketball. NBC SPORTS CHICAGO reports that EDWARDS, known for his stints at WLS-A, WCFL-A, WKQX (Q101), WRLL-A (REAL OLDIES 1690), and WJMK (K-HITS 104.3)/CHICAGO and his partnership with LARRY LUJACK on the revered "Animal Stories" segments on WLS, will wrap things up after SATURDAY's game at UNITED CENTER.
EDWARDS has served three stints as BULLS P.A. voice, in 1976-81 and 1983-90 at the old CHICAGO STADIUM and since 2006 at UNITED CENTER, although he left CHICAGO for gigs at WODS/BOSTON and KCBS-F (ARROW 93.1)/LOS ANGELES during the MICHAEL JORDAN-SCOTTIE PIPPEN championship seasons. He retired from radio in 2014.
