Naming whistleblowers is often considered unethical and possibly illegal, but COMPASS MEDIA NETWORKS and ALPHA MEDIA News-Talk KXL/PORTLAND host LARS LARSON chose to name the whistleblower who reported President TRUMP's conduct on a call with Ukrainian President VOLODYMYR ZELENSKY on an appearance on FOX NEWS CHANNEL anyway, thus becoming the first to do so on cable news.
While whistleblowers are legally protected from having their identity revealed because of the possibility of retaliation and intimidation of other possible witnesses, LARSON, appearing on "OUTNUMBERED OVERTIME" with HARRIS FAULKNER, said the name that has been circulated by right-wing websites in recent weeks; he told the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER that he did so "because the American people deserve to know the name of the man making the accusation that the Democrats hope to use to remove an American president." There has been no confirmation of the whistleblower's name from any official source.
