CUMULUS and WESTWOOD ONE Chief Insights Officer PIERRE BOUVARD's latest blog post at the WWO site points to AM/FM radio's effectiveness for political advertising.
In the post, research from NIELSEN MEDIA IMPACT and NIELSEN SCARBOROUGH is shown to demonstrate that AM/FM radio reaches 88% of likely voters, greater than the Internet (85%), TV (83%), or Facebook (62%) and much more than SIRIUSXM (18%), TWITTER (18%, 90% of whom are reached by AM/FM), PANDORA (17%), or SPOTIFY (10%); AM/FM reaches 88% of Democrats, Republicans, and swing voters; and simply reallocating 20% of a TV-only media plan for a Senate campaign to radio boosted reach from 79% to 90%.
